Here is my story:
Graduated from Hadas High School in 1975 and went to IIT Bombay. 5 years B Tech in electrical engineering followed by 2 years M Tech in Compuet science. Left IIT in 1982 and joined Tata Burroughs (a software firm) in SEEPZ Mumbai. Went to France and Scotland in 1983 for a year, returned in 1984 April.
Go married to Ira Huddar in May 1984.
Came to Detroit USA in August 1984 and since then I am here in Michigan.
Along the way came two sons Rohan and Tanay (both now in Chicago).
Worked in Michigan state government for 27 years and retired at the age of 55 in 2013. Was tech support manager there. In between I had joined Deloitte and Touche but left in 5 weeks as I did not like the travel. Joined CNSI (medicaid claims processing software…
Thanks Narya for the kind words, but here is another story that will be inspirational. I went to IIT but did not have many friends. I kept wondering why. Then when I started my job I ran into a book by Dale Carnegie, “How to win friends and influence people”. That was a game changer. It told me how to work with people. It made me realize why I did not have many friends.
I used to show off how I could solve something quick and my IIT friends did not like it. After reading the book I understood why. That book changed my life. In India we need to teach some of these basic principles about dealing with people.

Girish you wrote Sucheta’s description was apt ‘डोळ्यात भरते’ about Sarita. टोम्या डोळ्याची माणिक साठे आठवते ? अरे डोळ्यात भरते हे भल आठवलं पण जिचा हात पकडला तिला कस विसरलास 🤭😋
