Rajiv most deserving for the title as star for ever.
Very silent sincere and studious nature, obviouly teachers love and back benchers envy. Multitalented, successful and caring , definitely families pride blessed with parents love.
Cut to 2019. An enthusiastic group member in establishing group foundation and reinventing friendship. Now a mature, amicable and more friendly businessman. Proprietor of Aviraj. I remember his initiative to visit my place, rejuvenating old memories. Very special was his remembering details of our discussions and recalling appropriately.
I wish him along with his family happy, healthy life. Inshallah looking forward more occasions of his visits to my home in Pune and meetings in Nagpur.

This weeks star is fondly called Rajya and I was associated with him since admission to hadas high school in 5th standard and the association went on unbroken throughout till date.I think I spent max time with rajya amongst all our friends.Right from daily travel to school n back,lunch time break activities,visiting local liabrary,playing outside school,gulli cricket,festival celebration like holi,movie watch n many more.He is a very quiet,harmless,helpfull,music lover,can get along smoothly with anybody and a very social person.Being son of celebrity music maestro’s ,mother a music visharad and classical music artist besides a music professor Dr Usha Parkhi and father a great violinist n very sr officer at AG office Mr Ramchandra Parkhi ,rajya is very much blessed with music. However, he didn’t much exploit the music at professional level. You may remember his songs sung at school, Dehachi tijori…..n Mavaltya dinkara……etc amongst many.
After his Engg ,he worked with many organisations of repute and finally ventured in his own engg business and continuing with it.
Rajya is very much a loved person amongst friends n all everywhere.

Was his normal way of introducing himself, I know Rajiv since 5 th to 11th & am in touch with him till date.
Because of him I came in contact with Laxminagar Friends Kishor Kulat, Goverdhan, Dr Gosavi, Mohgaonkar etc & now its a wonderful group of friends almost 10 forming बटाटावडा group . We meet every Sunday for breakfast & टपरी चाय since last more than 15 years now – its very refreshing event every Sunday. I happened to meet Rajiv at Pune kolkata where he was posted so also even during his London’s stay in 1982
School days memories : Good at studies , शांत स्वभावाचा ( पण थोडासा अखडु prima facie felt by others 😀Actually he is not) संगीताचा वारसा लाभलेला – his favourite song in school was ज्योतीकलश झलके indirectly expressing his crush on ज्योती देशमुख + as mentioned by Sushya नागपुरात सर्वात जास्त भेट झालेल्या वर्गमित्रांमधे राजीव व धन्याचा समावेश होईल.
२००१ नंतर अधेमधे तो जेवायला बोलवत असे पण आजकाल तो जास्त कोकणस्थांच्या संगतीत असतो ( मी नाही ) Meenal charming girl from Pandit family merged her identity with Parkhi’s at young age of 18 in February 87
She is ever smiling & a good host. Parijiat has joined Raju’s business.I wish trio happy & healthy years ahead 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
PS: अखडु I am referring to school days . लग्नानंतर तो आपोआपच नष्ट होतो 😀

With Raju I have long association and carrying good memories from school. Being good in studies I used to go to him for guidance, very helping nature calm and always sing something while doing home work. Being from classical music family he is blessed.
He is also good in table tennis which I came to know during his visit to Pune COEP apart from his affection to music. With Sushya &Raju at Mumbai 82-83 during TCE days we had good time being batchlor , meeting wihh common friend Kishya at VJTI and Shushya flat at Thane. Afterward though we could not meet as I had shifted from Laxminagar now recently we met after long gap and all memories refreshed It is like booster dose of energy to me.
Wish Raju Meenal and Parijet long healthy and happy life . Eager to meet all batch met as I am also shifting to Nagpur shortly We will arrange Raju music program once lockdown in relaxed. Shrikant Sagdeo
Star of the week and singing star of the class, Raja has been the only person from our class whom I have been meeting uninterrupted every 2-3 years over the past 45 years. With most of the other friends there has been gaps in between of 5 – 45 years. Much has said about his easy going nature which is why he has such a large friend circle and circle of influence. It is also why he is a social encyclopedia (like Ashu) who knows who is where and doing what. One of the handful amongst us who managed to set up a successful business. All the best. Very true that except 3 years that I was in London, like Ashu, Narya has also kept in touch. Every time he comes to India, he makes it a point to call and Narya, Prafulla Shiwalkar & I always manage to get together. Thank you Narya.! Rajiv पारखी
माझ्या आठवणीतला राजीव नेहमी नर्म विनोद करणारा आनंदी असा आहे. त्याची आवाज फुटायच्या आधीची गायन कला समृद्ध होती. कठीण पण मृदू असे ‘ ज्योति कलश झलके’ हे गाणे त्याने अगदी लीलया गायले होते. त्यावेळी शाळेत ताना घेऊन नाट्यगीत गाणारी दोन मुले होती (नावे आठवत नाहीत). त्यांच्या फ्लॅशीनेस पुढे हे गाणे साधे होते पण तरीही रुचणारे होते.
कॉलेजनंतर त्याच्याशी संपर्क जवळपास तुटला. आम्हा दोघांचे दोन दुवे मात्र त्याची बातमी मला कळवत राहिले. त्याचे वडील माझ्या वडिलांच्या ऑफिस मध्येच होते. त्यामुळे त्यांचे जेंव्हा लंडन मध्ये पोस्टिंग झाले ते मला लगेच कळले. त्याला पुढील शिक्षणाची संधी आयतीच चालून आली होती तेही मला कळले.
माझी आत्या पारखी आणि तिचा राजीव हा पुतण्या. त्यामुळे तो माझा cousin बनतो. या कारणाने त्याची हकीकत कळायची. पण भेट मात्र व्हायची नाही.
हल्ली मी माझ्या आत्याकडे गेलो होतो आणि बोलत बसलो असताना अचानक एक भारदस्त व्यक्ती तिथे शिरली आणि ओळखीचे हसली. माझ्या शिरस्त्याने मी देखील ओळखीचे हसलो. माझ्या डोक्यात काहीच प्रकाश पडला नव्हता! मग आम्ही जुजबी बोलणी करून बोलणे संपवले. घरी जाताना अचानक माझ्या डोक्यात प्रकाश पडला.
राजीव या बाबतीत तसाच राहिला आहे. असे कुणा दुसऱ्याच्या बाबतीत घडले असते तर चार शिव्या तरी नक्कीच खाल्या असत्या.
पुढे कळले की त्याचा logistic प्रांतात स्वतंत्र व्यवसाय आहे. Fork lift cha सांभाळ करणे त्याची खासियत आहे. तसेच त्याला नवीन तंत्र शिकण्याची आवड आहे. शिवाय गाण्याची आवड आता तो जोपासायला लागला आहे. त्याने ती जोरात पुढे न्यावी यासाठी माझ्या शुभेच्छा. तसेच भारदस्तपण पण आटोक्यात ठेवावे.
