भारदस्त कपाळ ,कोकणस्थी गोरा रंग ,घारे डोळे,दणदणीत आवाज, खणखणीत नाण असा आहे अजित. थत्ते मॅडमचा आवडता विद्यार्थी .कोण आहे रे तो शिष्ठ जो अजितला त्रास देतोय – इति थत्ते मॅडम to me . त्याला धक्का नको लागायला .

Myself & Ajit we were benchmates for one year in 9^th. Ajit’s father & my uncle were good friends so also my father & other uncles knew Oke family very well. I used to visit Ajit during school days quiet often during races & sometimes on Sunday to play cricket however lost touch after school.

Thereafter just before 2001 get together came to know he is in Canara Bank so it was easy to catch hold of him for the function २००१ नंतर पुन्हा उज्वलनगरला त्याच्याघरी भेट झाली व पुन्हा जैसे थे – सगळेजण आपापल्या परि बिझी. Here we are again on common platform.

He was here in Nagpur last year & made it a point to meet. Much against our wish we could not invite him at home ( post Corona fear ) & had to compromise to meet at our store Clay Clan. Ajit in your next visit stay with us only.

Dear Friends,

I sincerely thank Anil for proposing my name as star of the week. I never expected my name will be proposed so early. This revived the memories of school life, particularly during the 5th class. As rightly pointed out by Ashutosh I was a favorite student of our class teacher Mrs Thatte Madam During 5th standard I used to Rank in first three students in the class with cent percent marks in maths. However, what has gone wrong in the intervening summer between the fifth and sixth I am till date unable to understand. My academic performance went down to the bottom. I was promoted to the next class every year. By god’s grace, I was successful in the board exam which was a pleasant surprise for me. Being below below-average student only a few class mate had close relation with me, to name a few are Pradeep, Umesh, Anil, Sharad and of course Ashutosh.

Here I wish to narrate to you a life saving incident with me. There was a huge cement pipe lying in the playground. Some use to climb over it and some push it to and fro. One day I was on top of it and lost my balance and fell between the pipe and the compound wall Pipe was moving towards me to make me a sandwich. However, due to presence of mind of one of the students standing nearby who threw a big stone under the pipe saved my life. I don’t know who he was but thank him today from the bottom of my heart.

After completing school I opted for commerce and completed my BCom smoothly. We were dependent on my elder brother at that time. Hence I preferred for law graduation. By this time I was very serious about my studies. I passed my LLB first-year exam in 1979.In the meantime I appeared for the BSRB exam and was selected for appointment in Canara Bank Today I am very satisfied and living a peaceful life at Nashik.

आयुष्यात आणिक काय हव ! ,

जे तु म्हणाला मी खूप खुश व समाधानी आहे . वा या पेक्षा अधिक काय हव !

बँकेच्या टेबल वर निरविकार चेहरा ठेवून , लोकांनी केलेल्या अनेक आर्थिक उलाढाली तुला छान अनुभव देवुन गेल्य असतीलच. त्या तून तू नवा हळदीच्या शेती चा उद्योग सुरू केला .हळद म्हणजे फायदा , नुकसान जवळपास नाही च. शिवाय नेहमी मागणी . पेन्ढारकर एक मोठे ग्राहक.

हळदी चे व तुझे गुण सुद्धा जुळतात. जसे जंतुनाशक आरोग्य जपण्यासाठी उपयुक्त (तुझा निरोगी चेहरा ) . हळदी ने शुभ कार्यक्रम सुरु होतात. हळद एकदा का सान्निध्यात आलीकी , रंग काही जात नाही . तसेच तुझे . एकदा का परिचय झाला की मग तो कायमस्वरूपी.

शाळेत जाताना तुझे कडे येणे, पेरू तोडणे नित्याचे. बाकी फारसे आठवत नाही. काल मुद्दाम मी तुझ्या घरच्या गल्लीत गेलो.पण आता ना हिंदू ज्ञानपीठ आहे, न जुने घर .पार बदलून गेल .

तुझ्या कडून अपेक्षित होते ते हळद पुराण ……..पी हळद अन हो गोरी , असे म्हणून तुझ्या इतक गोरेपण येण कठीण व गुण . Pradeep दिवाळे

दोन गोष्टीसाठी अजित अविस्मरणीय राहील. एक पूर्ण वंशवळी आणि दुसरं शांत वर्गात धाडकन पेटी पडायची. बॅक बेंचरस दचकून जागे व्हायचे. अजित शाळेत मला अबे साले म्हणायचा तेव्हा वाटले नव्हते हा हक्क त्याला lifelong मिळेल. हितेंद्र पांडे

अजित माझ्या ८वी पासून माझ्या वर्गात होता. मिडल school मध्ये मी बरा कबड्डी खेळायचो. पण आठवितील नव्या वर्गमित्रतात माझे कबड्डीतील दोष मला नव्याने कळले. चढाईत जास्त हिम्मत, जास्त वेळ दम टिकणे या माझ्या जमेच्या बाजू. पण माझी योग्य पकड व्हायला लागली आणि माझ्या जमेच्या बाजू निरुपयोगी झाल्या. हे होण्याचे एक कारण म्हणजे अजित सारखे काही जण.

अजित क्रिकेट मध्ये उत्तम bouncers टाकायचा. ते कसे टाकतात असे विचारल्यावर तो म्हणाला की अरे फारसे काही नाही. बॉल टाकताना मधले बोट लावायचे म्हणजे bouncer पडतो. हे ऐकून मी कधीच bouncer टाकू शकलो नाही. पण गुगली टाकायची युक्ती मात्र समजली.

First of all I want to thank you all for my selection as star of the week. I was able to share my feelings with you. It is very difficult to express in English and even more difficult to write Marathi on mobile. There seems to be some misunderstanding about my intention. Please don’t take it otherwise. It was not intended to mean like that. If I have hurt someone I tender my unconditional apology. I enjoy this group very much which reminds us our golden days.

I propose dear Kumar Ghate as next star of the week. I will write about him shortly

At the outset permit me to differ with you about mixing friendship with academic part at least at school level.

In life academics is not everything however there’s no doubt it helps to build your career & that’s the only thing that no one can take away from you. In my opinion, to become a good human being is more important than everything which I feel you are & it has made you to be a satisfied person in life

You have performed your duty honestly & sincerely is also what it counts most.

I don’t know what misunderstanding you are referring to? We may differ but there is no question of any misunderstanding at all that too after 45 years?
