Fond Memories of Hadas High School
- Project work given by Shri Anant Ektate Sir
I remember Shri Ektate sir gave us project work either in 8 th or 9 th standard.I was given project to make Jama Masjid out of plaster of Paris. When I got this project, I was afraid that how I will make Jama Masjid which I have never seen. To make its structure with plaster of paris, was very difficult. So I started remaining tense. One day my grandfather asked me why are you looking tense? I told him about the project work which is very difficult for me to do. He said don’t worry. He went to market and bought plaster of paris. He made replica of Jama masjid in two dimensions instead of three dimensions. It was looking fine. My tension became zero after seeing the model. I carried that model for the exhibition in Hadas high school and Shri Ektate sir approved it. Although my grandfather is no more but I always remember his kind help to complete my project work in time.
- Appreciation by Shri M D Joshi Sir
Shri M D Joshi sir has taught us Mathematics in 11 th standard. I was a student of very average intelligence(enclosed scanned copy of 10 th marklist) so some of my classmates might have forgotten me after such a long time gap of 45 years .After 10 th class result, I thought I should work harder for studies so I bought 11 th standard mathematics book in the summer vacation of 10 th class. My cousins told me, in college lecturers give only lectures and they do not teach us the way in which it is being taught in Hadas. Therefore I thought I should do self study to under stand the subjects. I read the lesson once and tried to solve the problems at the end of chapters. To my surprise, I could able to solve all examples and answers were matching. With in 20-25 days , I solved all the problems of 11 th standard maths text book and written solutions neatly in my note book. When classes started in July,I was very happy and comfortable since I was knowing solutions to all problems of text book. Our Girish salpekar was very intelligent and always stood first in our class. One day he asked one difficulty to Shri M D joshi sir since he could not able to solve.Shri M D Joshi sir also got puzzled and told him it is difficult to solve. As I have already solve this problem in summer vacation, I stood up in class and told sir that I have already solved this problem in my notebook. He asked me to show my notebook. When I have shown solution to said problem in my notebook, Shri Joshi Sir was very Happy and said” Jya shalet D B Kamble sarkhe vidhyarthee Astat , te pudhe jawun shaleche nav unchavtat”His words of appreciation always echoed in my ears. That I made promise to myself that I will make his words true through my sincere efforts. Achievements: In BPCL, When I took over as Chief Manager safety, Our Million Manhour without loss time accident score was zero. To achieve one million manhour without LTA for company employees, ,Refinery should have no accident in two and half months with continuous operation of refinery units. BPCL, Mahul Refinery never crossed more than 9 million manhours without loss time accident since 1955 when company was set up by Burma shell. I studied the system thoroughly and started eliminating unsafe acts, unsafe condition, carrying out RCA of near miss accidents, discussions with shop floor employees, giving training to company employees through lectures and discussions, Doing analysis of various accidents etc. From 2011 to 2017, there were no accidents and I could able to achieve 27 million manhours without loss time accident which is highest record in history of BPCL from zero million. Many employees were very happy because during my tenure since they got good money as safety incentive after completion of million manhours. I was transferred to sewree in May 2017. With in 9 months accident happened and MMHr WLTA score became zero and never went above 9. As of today, it is only 6 million manhour without loss time accident. To achieve such feat, you require passion, dedication, sincerity and day and night monitoring of refinery safety system. Whenever some refinery employees/officers meets me , he says sir during your tenure there were no accidents and we were benefited financially through safety incentive award. I think it is through blessings of shri M D Joshi Sir’s words of appreciation, I could able to miracles in BPCL ,Mahul Refinery.
