Sushil Deshmukh, Savarakar and me were classmates in Kurvey’s primary school in joshiwadi. That time Sushil was not Sushil but a दांडगट boy. In HHS 9th I again met him. That time he was Sushil.

Probably we have not met in person since we left HHS. Now we are in touch through WhatsApp group. Now from his posts it looks that he is slightly away from Sushil. His return ticket to Mumbai was the latest example. This is not a complaint. Be original. We are enjoying.

सुश्या

शाळेत असल्यापासून त्याला चिकटलेले हे एकच नाव मला आठवते. बॅक बेंचर असल्याने कुजबुज समूहात तो सहभागी असायचा. ज्याला cool म्हणायला हरकत नाही असा. म्हणजे शांत नाही तर हातापायी झाली तरी हसणारा. माझ्या आठवणीत माझी त्याचाशी थोडी धक्काबुक्की झाली होती पण लगेच आमची हातमिळवणी पण झाली.

शाळेनंतर तो एकदा अचानक भेटला तो माझ्या आठवणीप्रमाणे वरळीत Humphrey Glasgow मध्ये. तो त्यावेळी प्रोजेक्ट्स मध्ये होता आणि मी माझ्या धंद्याची चाचपणी करायला गेलो होतो तेव्हा. अर्थात आमची ब्रांच वेगळी असल्याने त्याच्या मैत्रीचा काहीच उपयोग नव्हता.

त्यानंतर माझ्या माहितीनुसार तो नेहमीच प्रोजेक्ट्स मध्ये राहिला. आणि आता तो टोयो मध्ये प्रोजेक्ट मॅनेजर किंवा अधिक असा आहे.

मी ज्यावेळेस धंदा करीत होतो तेव्हा मी industrial कामे बरीच केली. काही काळ मी टोयोचा कन्सल्टंट होतो. त्यावेळेस consulting प्रोजेक्ट मध्ये काम करणाऱ्या लोकांशी माझा नेहमीचा संबंध असे. डिझाईन करणाऱ्या लोकांना हाकायचे काम हे लोक करतात शिवाय client side सांभाळतात. एक प्रकारचे प्रोजेक्ट मास्टर्स म्हणू तसे. (नॉन industrial क्षेत्रात हे काम बिल्डर करतो).

प्रोजेक्ट मध्ये असणारा माणूस सगळ्यांना सांभाळून घेणारा थोडक्यात cool लागतो. सुश्या शाळेपासून तसाच असल्याने अगदी योग्य करिअर मध्ये पडला. माझ्या माहितप्रमाणे तो चांगलाच यशस्वी झाला. Toyo मध्ये मी काही काळ काम केले असल्याने त्या कंपनीचे कल्चर मला चांगले ठाऊक आहे. तिथे नको असलेल्या माणसांना डच्चू दिला जात नाही पण त्यांना बाजूला बसवून ठेवतात. अशा कंपनीत रिटायरमेंट नंतरही काम करत राहणे हे त्याला जमले यावरून काय ते कळते.

Humphrey नंतर सुश्या मला आशुतोष मुळे भेटला. तो त्याच्या घरी (वृंदावन जवळ) काळीकर पण आला होता. त्यानंतर अचानक काळीकरचे अपघाती निधन झाले. तेव्हा तो मी आणि कुमार घाटे त्याच्या घरी सांत्वन करायला गेलो होतो.

हल्ली ग्रुप मध्ये भेटणारा सूश्या थोडा वेगळा वाटतो. म्हणजे ज्याला pick a fight करणारा म्हणू तसा. पण असे करणारा सुश्या जेव्हा माझ्या डोळ्यासमोर येतो तो हसत असतो आणि भांडणाऱ्याशी लगेच सलगी करणारा असतो. अगदी शाळेतल्या सारखा. प्रमोद सहस्त्रबुद्धे

Thanks for your compliments and memories recalled.While in Davy powergas ,I was at Humphrey’s office for a meeting re RIL’s polypropylene n polyester unit ,then was being built at Hazira,when I met pramod there a surprize and pleasant coincident. Thanks Pramod Sushil

इस hafte ka chamakta sitara. Hindi bhasha roman lipee me likhane ke liye bahot shukriya. Tere vajah se muse bhi devnagei lipee phone par utaar ne ki koi jarurat mahsus nahi hoti.

I concur with Pamya about being cool and collected. After leaving the school, we continued to meet due to common friends in Laxminagar. In Dec 19 I stayed with him for a day and had great time partying with other school friends. The amount of laughter that evening would be hard to surpass. It was very heartening to spend time with Shushya the friend but also a father of accomplished kids, uncle of accomplished nephews and husband of high achiever wife. All the best buddy. Narendra

सुश्या रे ….. Will never say Sushil & will not think in dream also as सुशील as per Mohan My memories about Sushya:

१) ७ वीत मुळे सर त्याला पकडुन मुलींच्या रांगेत फेरी मारून आणायचे. मुलींच्या बाकांकडे ढकलतांना त्यांची ( सुश्या + मुली) तारांबळ बघण्यात मजा यायची . सर ढकलत म्हणायचे हि बघ मावशी 😀सुश्या – शिरू सप्रे – मोगलेवार were regular members of this enjoyable trip. I was also eligible member but was not lucky 😀

२) Again in 7th सुश्या was reading story book – noticed by Mule Sir – asked Sushya हे म्हणजे काय ? फळ्याकडे दाखवून -replied वाळलेलं गवत मग काय …… all know

३ ) ९ वी ते ११ वी Changed guy serious about studies – tamed down one can say – Hitler effect? Visited his Laxmi nagar residence quite often- रंगपंचमीला सायकलवरून ✖️✖️मारत भटकणे – सोनेरी दिवस परत न येणारे

After school we met in 2000 at Thane वृंदावन सोसायटी as then on few occasions only on phone. Our last meeting was in Nagpur on my birthday December 2020. Pramod has aptly described different Sushya in group ‘Pick a fight’ type to which he will never agree.

Dear all,

I would like to thank all of you for having tolerated me as star of week.I specifically thank Mohan, pamya, dinesh,narya,ashu,Rajiv parkhi,hitendra for reviving past memories.I take this opportunity to pass the baton and announce the star of next week Rajiv Parkhi.

Rajiv is fondly called Rajya and I was associated with him since admission to hadas high school in 5th standard and the association went on unbroken throughout till date.I think I spent max time with rajya amongst all our friends. Right from daily travel to school n back,lunch time break activities,visiting local liabrary,playing outside school,gulli cricket,festival celebration like holi,movie watch n many more.He is a very quiet,harmless,helpfull,music lover,can get along smoothly with anybody and avery social person.Being son of celebrated music maestro’s ,mother who was music visharad a classical music artist and music professor Dr Usha Parkhi and father a great violinist n very sr officer at AG office Mr Ramchandra Parkhi ,rajya is very much blessed with music.However,he didn’t much exploit the music at professional level.You may remember his songs sung at school,Dehachi tijori…..n Mavaltya dinkara……etc amongst many.

After his Engg ,he worked with many organisations of repute and finally ventured in his own engg business and continuing with it.

Rajya is very much loved person amongst friends n all everywhere.

Great rajya, enjoy the star of week from Sunday.
